Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) Pathways to Talking photography project. Photographs from the project reproduced here with the kind permission of Salford Council/GMCA.
In collaboration with Professor Deborah James from the Faculty of Education and Professor Amanda Ravetz from the School of Art at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), I was commissioned by Salford Council/GMCA to take photographs of locations around the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester. Locations were chosen by children's centres from each of the boroughs because of their importance to families in those areas. When taking the photographs I tried to capture a sense of a child's experience of the locations in two ways, firstly by focusing on things I thought a child would notice and secondly by taking the photographs from a low view point.
